About The Artist

Anson Asaka is a self taught, Baltimore based visual artist and civil rights attorney.  He has had three solo art exhibitions.  His last solo art exhibition, The Black Queen in All of Her Splendor and Glory, was held at katsea gallery in Towson, Maryland in March 2023.  He has done commissioned paintings for FMC Corporation, Corpus Christi Catholic Parish in Baltimore, and the Howard County Public Library, East Columbia Branch.  Recently, artspace in Richmond, Virginia selected Mr. Asaka to participate in the JAZZ: February/March Juried Exhibition. Maryland State Art Council Grants for Artists approved Mr. Asaka's grant application in March 2023. LED Baltimore selected Mr. Asaka be to a featured artist on their website and billboard in February 2023. Mr. Asaka won two live art competitions hosted by The Black Genius Art Show In Baltimore, Maryland. 

Mr. Anson Asaka graduated cum laude from Howard University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 1992.  In 1996, Anson graduated from Rutgers Law School in Newark, New Jersey.  He is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia, Maryland and other states.
